Gerhard Haderer’s cartoons are renowned for their keen and acute sense of the essential, and they have exposed many of our world’s absurdities. Politics, religion or everyday life – the way Haderer uncovers the truth might seem hurtful to some, but it is also hugely entertaining. In November 2017, the artist opened Die Schulde des Ungehorsams (School of Disobedience) in Linz, a platform for art, culture, politics and social discourse. The interplay of art, satire and humor will make sense of complex issues. The school will host exhibitions, parties, readings of comics, presentations and workshops as well as research teams.
